Cordouan Lighthouse: one of the oldest in France, which you can reach by boat at low tide.
A list of boat companies is available at the Tourist Information Centre. 
La Coubre Lighthouse: one of the most powerful lighthouses in France.  You can go up its 64m tower around the 300 steps of the spiral staircase.  At the foot of the lighthouse, an EcoMuseum narrates maritime adventures and the life of the lighthouse, with an exhibition of a variety of historical objects.

The Gironde Estuary: the broadest estuary in Europe, 75km long and 12km wide.  Among the best preserved with its rich culture and scenery.  
 Estuary Park: come and discover the largest estuary in Europe at this park, located on De Suzac Point.  With temporary exhibitions, guided visits, themed events and nature tours.

Hippodrome: the hippodrome is located in a fantastic 24 hectare park at the heart of the regional pine forest, near La Palmyre Zoo.  A list of races is available at the Tourist Information Centre.

Talmont sur Gironde: a village the promontory overlooking the Gironde Estuary.  Sainte-Radegonde Church, built in the 12th Century, sits high on a cliff over the estuary and is a jewel of Saintongeais medieval architecture.
Mornac sur Seudre : with its small oyster port and pretty artisanal village, Mornac-sur-Seudre is overflowing with character.
