Velodyssey - the Atlantic on the open road

Vélodyssée®, also called "Véloroute Atlantique", is the French section  EV1 which stretches from Norway to Portugal. Between Roscoff in Brittany and Hendaye on the Spanish border it covers over 1,200 km of easily cyclable pathways, all safe to ride on, signposted and passing through many major tourist centres.

This new route crosses the Charente-Maritime département from the Pont du Brault in the Marais Poitevin, along the Atlantic coast to the banks of the Gironde estuary at Royan, passing La Rochelle, Rochefort, Marennes and Mathes-La Palmyre.
